| WHY I MOVED TO SHAKER TOWERS |
|
We asked owners who moved to Shaker Towers in the past two years why they decided to live here. Here's what they said. |
|
Owner K, a career counselor who
works in Shaker Heights. I moved to a condo because I wanted to leave house maintenance behind me and spend more time doing what I enjoyed doing. I chose Shaker Towers because I felt I got an excellent value for my investment — a large suite, attractive surroundings, good maintenance, and a secure environment. I had looked at a number of different options, but Shaker Towers had it all at a reasonable purchase price and maintenance cost. I compared my monthly costs at my home in Cleveland Heights to the maintenance fee at Shaker Towers and found it was about even. I also got more square feet for one-third less cost. Every day I feel I made the right choice. I feel very secure and comfortable. I know our building is well managed by a paid staff and by the board. As a bonus - there are so many interesting people who live in the same place. |

Why I Bought A Suite At Shaker Towers |
|
Owner N, an executive in a money
management firm.
I moved here from Manhattan and as a former New Yorker was in the habit of walking to do my errands and to go out to eat, so the proximity to Shaker Square was especially appealing to me. In addition, I was accustomed to a high level of building staff services in my co-op (similar to a condo) in NY and I was very pleased to see the extent of the staff and their obvious professionalism, with an on-site building manager. But it was love at first sight when I saw my future apartment - I believe it is the largest unit at Shaker Towers (1,934 square feet) and all that space appeared as an unimaginable luxury to this former New Yorker! I looked at a unit across the street, but wanted to avoid the needed upgrades and likely additional capital costs. I also looked at a new development in Chagrin Falls, but found it sterile and not so neighborly as Shaker Towers. Friends of my parents live here and I was impressed with what they had to say. Then I learned that my realtor lived here too! What better recommendation could one get? Finally, as a former devotee of the subway, I was glad to see the Shaker Rapid nearby, and I even enjoy hearing it clacking along through my open windows. |

Owner J, a retired professional For many years Shaker Towers has enjoyed an outstanding reputation for its upkeep and excellent services. Having moved here 18 months ago I can definitely say the reputation is well deserved. The staff are kind, helpful and responsible. The layout and space of my condominium are perfect. I feel safe leaving my condo for long periods of time. I moved from a town house and lived on three floors. That didn't bother me until I closed my office and spent more hours at home, running up and down steps so often each day. Now I love living on one floor. My neighbors are considerate and friendly. In fact, I have made many new friends and love my garden plot. Walking to Shaker Square for dinner or/and a movie is a definite addition to my life. New owners have taken over development of the Square and I expect there will be many more advantages to live in walking distance of the Square. I compliment myself for making such a good decision to move to Shaker Towers. |

Owners M and J, a lawyer-physician couple We had tickets for the symphony one Friday night, so we rushed home after work to Auburn Lakes where we lived in a free-standing condo, wolfed down some food for dinner, got ourselves ready to go, and then drove the nearly one hour from Auburn Township to Severance Hall, only to discover that we were there for the wrong night: the orchestra was playing the following night! Being all dressed up with nowhere to go, we went to see a not very good movie in Cleveland Heights. That incident finally did it for us. We were tired of all the driving we had to do to get back and forth to home. We grew up in Cleveland Heights and Shaker Heights, our folks live nearby, and Shaker Towers is convenient to our offices. So when a friend told us there was a suite available in Shaker Towers we decided to buy here. We've never looked back and are very glad we made the move. The community of people is wonderful here, and as an added bonus, we enjoy our garden. We are very happy we moved here and our dog Spot has also settled in happily. |

Owner T, a
professor I recently moved to Shaker Towers, not least to be near my workplace (Case Western Reserve University), but also because of its warm, friendly environment, and because of the services available. The latter include package acceptance and admittance of service personnel with my permission. Shaker Towers provides quiet and secure living near Shaker Square, and from the twelfth floor, the view is unbeatable! |
